Kabale police seek identity of man found dead in River Rwabahazi

Police in Kabale District are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man whose body was discovered floating in River Rwabahazi on September 18, 2025.

Residents of Rugyendera cell, Rushaki ward, Kabale Municipality, came across the body at about 9:00 am and immediately notified the authorities.

Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate said officers from Kabale Central Police Station responded to the scene, documented evidence, and transferred the body to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

“We call upon anyone missing a loved one to check the hospital mortuary for possible identification,” Maate said.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are ongoing.
