INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

On Friday, President Yoweri Museveni presided over celebrations marking International Women's Day in Uganda's eastern district of Katakwi.

It was the first time for the district to host the national celebrations of the day since its creation 27 years ago.

Celebrating the commemoration under the theme: Accelerating Gender Equality through Women Economic Empowerment, the choice of the venue resonated well with creating an inclusive society and investing in women's empowerment.
