KYANKWAZI - Police are investigating a disturbing incident in Kyankwanzi district where a woman’s body was discovered in a house with some parts reportedly placed in a saucepan, while two men were later found dead at the same scene.
The March 20 discovery happened in Kiryanongo village, Bananywa sub-county.
Confirming the incident, Wamala Region Police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi said investigations into suspected murder are ongoing, urging the public to remain calm as detectives establish what exactly happened.
According to Police, residents became suspicious after a neighbour noticed a strong, unusual smell coming from a house occupied by two men. The matter was reported to other villagers, who then entered the house to check.
Inside, they found a body packed in a sack with one leg protruding. Some human flesh had been cut into pieces and placed in a saucepan.
The deceased woman was identified as Vensi, a resident of Nakabugo village in the same sub-county, who had earlier been reported missing.
Police identified the two men found dead at the scene as Hakiza Damaseni and Ssemasaka, both residents of Kiryanongo village.
The village chairman reported the incident to Bananywa sub-county Police Station, prompting a response by officers led by the Kyankwanzi district police commander.
All three bodies were taken to Ntwetwe Health Centre IV for auopsy.
“We are investigating the circumstances under which the woman was killed and how the two other people also died. We urge the public to report suspicions to Police instead of taking matters into their own hands,” said Kigozi.
