How key Magala murder suspect Pato got off the hook
Since Pato had returned to South Africa, President Yoweri Museveni engaged his counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, to have him extradited to face the law over the kidnap, and murder of Suzan Magara. However, the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) later dropped the charges against him after the investigators realised that the voice was that of Yakub Byensi, but citizens raised questions around the release of Pato, wondering how a key suspect missed out on the court’s sentencing guillotine.
