Magara case: Why court sentenced key actors to death

The judge said Nakandi guarded Magara throughout her captivity, ensuring she remained blindfolded. He added that she was present when Magara’s fingers were severed and when she was eventually killed. Buvumbo, the court heard, carried out the most gruesome acts by cutting off Magara’s fingers, injecting her with ketamine, suffocating her with a polythene bag and strangling her to death.
