BUSOGA - The central Busoga diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Patrick Wakula has appointed and installed eight Lay Canons attached to All Saints Cathedral in Iganga district.
Their appointment took effect in January 2026, Bishop Wakula told New Vision Online in an interview on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The group comprises four men and four women, majority of them from the teaching profession:
1. Jonathan Kamwana, a former commissioner in charge of teacher education and development, was handed the mission and family life docket
2. Bugweri district education officer Lydia Sekalaala (education and mobilisation)
Daniel Okoth, the headteacher of Iganga Boys primary school (stewardship and family life)
3. Robert Badeebye (education, ecumenism and public relations).
4. Kaliro High School headteacher Paul Mwogeza
5. Dorothy Kasango, (family life, guidance and counseling)
6. Christine Kiwanuka (church discipline and canonic laws)
7. Rose Byogero (discipleship and mission)
