Ten years ago, Vision Group made a calculated risk to take the Harvest Money pull-out from the pages of New Vision and turned it into reality.
Along the way, the company has partnered with sponsors such as Tunga Nutrition, the Kingdom of Netherlands, ENGSOL, aBi, Pearl Bank, and Uganda Development Corporation, among others, to make it bigger and better with each passing year.
The three-day event is a kaleidoscope for all dealers in agriculture, agricultural machinery and financing.

It is the kind of event where visitors can buy seed, seedlings, receive expert advice and even get loans to uplift their farming ventures. At the Opportunity Bank stall, bank employees were busy explaining to expo visitors the different loan products they have for farmers.
“We have partnerships with farmers, and we support all farmers,” said Blessing Kahereza, the bank’s marketing manager.
She said they entered a partnership with John Deere, a company that makes tractors, to sell tractors to farmers. Kahereza said only farmers are eligible for loans and not prospective farmers.
The Expo has been an extravaganza for farming enthusiasts, who, after paying an entry fee of sh10,000 were treated to a buffet of farming knowledge and inputs, and are ready to engage in farming as a business.
