Eastern giants BUL FC and Jinja City Queens Girls Football Club have entered a partnership for the next two years.

According to BUL FC chairperson Ronald Barente, the relationship will have BUL take on Jinja City Queens as its official women's football team, with the latter retaining its brand identity, but will have Fortune Butto, the main sponsor of BUL FC embroidered on their shirts and sleeves.

Going forward, the club will provide its financial support, training equipment, boots, and team jerseys.

The partnership will also see BUL provide technical expertise and knowledge exchange to the Queens throughout this period.

Jinja City Queens chairperson Barbra Nyaruguru was pleased with the partnership.

"As Jinja City Queens, we are so pleased to partner with BUL and we pledge to work hard and make a lot of improvements in the league we are featuring in. We hope we will not disappoint our partnership on pitch. We hope that this partnership with them will help to promote women's football in the Eastern region. We have played very well but there's a lot we need to do to improve and partly this partnership will boost a lot our team's performances," said the chairperson.

Meanwhile, BUL FC's Barente was so delighted with this partnership.

"The requirements of a football team just came recently as this could have been so easy for us to get sh20m and partner up with one of the clubs in Kampala, but we realised that working around with Jinja City Queens FC, a nearby club within Jinja would play a big role in us having a girls football club", said Barente.

JIPRA's director Swaibu Kitezaala was excited by the partnership.

"We thank BUL FC for offering the training facilities, financial support, and many other things to our girls club. Such partnerships make football an easy sport to manage. So this will help promote football talents in the region and the country," said Kitezaala.

Jinja City Queens is owned by Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) School and it's currently fourth with 21 points in the Eastern region league.
