The Brothers of Christian Instruction (locally referred to as the Brothers of Kisubi) have started the New Year with even greater joy after getting six new life members.
The Brothers who took the courage and committed themselves to a life of religious poverty, chastity and obedience, for the rest of their life, include Bro Alfred Mukasa from Mbarara Archdiocese, Bro Leonard Ssemanda Wasswa (from Masaka Diocese), Bro Deo Ruhweza Akiiki (Hoima Diocese), Bro Noa Tusasirwe (Mbarara Archdiocese), Bro Julius Mandella (Mbarara Archdiocese), and Bro Richard Kagoda (Jinja Diocese).

They took their perpetual vows before the congregation’s Provincial Superior, the Rev Bro Casio Aizire, who accepted them on behalf of the institute.
The function took place at St Mary’s College Kisubi (off Entebbe Road), in Wakiso district on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
During the same function, 4 Brothers celebrated 25 years of religious life. They included Bro Daniel Ssenkaayi from Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese, Bro Francis Mulima from Kampala Archdiocese), Bro Stephen Kyamanywa from Hoima diocese and Bro Simon Simeon Mpanga (the headteacher of SMACK) from Kampala Archdiocese.

Rev Bro Mubiru Tibyasa Joseph Kabanda, a very senior member of the congregation (from Lwaggulwe parish, Masaka diocese) celebrated 50 years in religious life.
The thanksgiving mass for the Brothers’ professions celebrations was presided over by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, the Most Rev Paul Ssemogerere, who lauded the Brothers of Christian Instruction for their contribution to Kampala Archdiocese through their dynamic involvement in education.
The Brothers’ Provincial Superior, Bro Casio Aizire paid tribute to the jubilarians and the new perpetually-professed Brothers for their courage, hard work and devotion.
“Dear Brothers, thank you for your courage, devotion, empathy, hard work and availability. Continue to be fathers to the people where you are sent to serve. Show them the living and compassionate face of God,” he said.
Bro Aizire finally congratulated/welcomed 13 former novices of the congregation who book their first vows and became members of the congregation, and 11 former postulants who were admitted to the novitiate during a prior function at the Brothers’ headquarters at Kisubi, the previous day (December 31, 2024).

Aizire concluded by voicing the congregation’s gratitude to the parents of the Brothers for producing them, nurturing them, teaching them the Catholic faith and also giving them to God and the Church.
Bro Simon Simeon Mpanga, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, asked the Brothers of Christian Instruction to remain humble and simple, to be able to serve the congregation with one heart.
He advised the Brothers never to run away from challenges, but to always face them with courage because they are sweetness in life that help them to lead a better life.

The function was also graced by the Bishop of Kasana-Luweero diocese, the Rt Rev Lawrence Mukasa and Bishop Serverus Jjumba of Masaka diocese.
