Tributes have been paid to Rev. Bro. Ariseni Kwebiha, the elderly member of the Catholic religious institute of the Brothers of Christian Instruction (also called the Brothers of Kisubi), who died from natural causes on Thursday (January 13) at the age of 99.
Kwebiha's admirers lauded him during his burial at Mount St. Theresa, Kisubi, on Entebbe Road (in Wakiso district) on Friday, January 14.

The Very Rev. Fr. Richard Nnyombi, a senior member of the missionary society of the White Fathers, who led the requiem mass, spoke highly of Bro. Kwebiha's deep commitment to the Institute of the Brothers of Christian Instruction and its charism of Christian Instruction and education of young people.
In his message that was delivered for him by Fr. Nnyombi, the Kampala Archdiocese Archbishop-designate, Paul Ssemogerere also lauded Bro. Kwebiha for teaching many young people, who he said are now serving the country and the international community in various important capacities.

The Provincial Superior of the Brothers of Christian Instruction, the Very Rev. Bro, Casio Aizire referred to Bro. Ariseni as an exemplary member of the institute, who gave the Brothers wise counsel by his words and actions.

A brief on Bro. Kwebiha
The Very Rev. Bro. Ariseni Kwebiha, 99, hailed from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hoima. He was born on August 17, 1923. He joined the juniorate of the Brothers of Christian Instruction in 1943. He then went through the institute’s postulancy, novitiate and subsequently became a religious Brother of Christian Instruction.

He then taught in various schools of the Brothers of Christian Instruction, including Mugwanya Preparatory School Kabojja (headmaster), Rubaga Boys PS School (headmaster), St. Henry’s College Kitovu (Bursar), St. Charles Lwanga Kasasa, St. Edwards Bukuumi, and many others.
Prior to his death, Bro. Kwebiha was in retirement at Mount St. Theresa Kisubi (the Provincial headquarters of the Brothers of Christian Instruction).
