The Bible Society of Uganda (BSU) has held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), the 39th since its establishment.

An impressive number of the organization’s members, partners, and well-wishers attended the event that took place at Buganda Road Playground on Friday (April 26, 2024).

The meeting started with a Biblical exposition on the theme: Your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God (2 Corinthians 9:11).

The sermon was delivered by the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Namirembe, the Rt. Rev Moses Banja, encouraged members of the Bible Society of Uganda and all Christians of goodwill to dedicate their resources to the work of the organization so that it is able to implement its various programmes. 

Using his personal testimony, citing the good things he has received as a result if his encounter and generosity to the Bible Society, Banja encouraged Christians to dedicate their resources to the organization without any self-pity. 

He assured them that God would lavish them with even greater blessings if they donated to the organization.

The reigning President of the Bible Society, Justice Mike Chibita also called on the members to be even more committed to the work of BSU.

The Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Fr Dr Mark Richard Ssajjabbi, and the organization’s new General Secretary, Serumaga Peter Lumbuye also addressed the assembly. 

The duo assured the members that the organization will ably meet all its loan commitments if each of the life members (who now number about 2,000) attracts three new life members.

Justice Chibita announced that the next AGM will take place in April 2024.
