Bible Society of Uganda hosts Bible Society of Kenya

The Bible Society of Uganda has established a working relationship with the Bible Society of Kenya.

This follows the visit of a powerful delegation from the Bible Society of Kenya to the Bible Society of Uganda.

The friendly encounter took place at the new Bible House in Kampala (Bombo Road) on Thursday. The Kenyan delegation was led by the General Secretary of the Bible Society of Kenya, Elizabeth Muriuki.

Delivering his speech during the function, Miriuki paid tribute to the Bible Society of Uganda for their commitment to the Gospel.

She later handed over US$5,000, which the Bible Society of Kenya donated to Uganda.

The General Secretary of the Bible Society of Uganda, Simon Peter Mukhama, briefed the visitors about the ways that the organisation is using to raise money for the New Bible House project, which includes life membership fee (sh1m), shares, the tin challenge, the magic cup, and the handwritten Bible.

Earlier during the function, Pastor Wes Seleiman (from Harvest Church of Memphis, Tennessee, USA) commended the Bible Society Uganda for its commitment to the spreading of the Word of God. 

He nonetheless asked the Christians to establish a personal relationship with Jesus, which he said was the essence of the ministry of the Bible Society of Uganda.

The function was also graced by the head of the Catholic laity in Uganda, Gervase Ndyanabo, the Vice-President of the Bible Society, Canon Dr. Rebecca Nyegenye, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Pastor Christian Aliddeki, the Chairman of the Bible Society’s Board of Governors, Fr. Dr. Mark Richard Ssajjabbi and David Isais from the American Bible Society.

During the function, the visitors from Kenya were taken on a tour of the new Bible House that is under construction.
