Police in Mpigi have started investigations into the death of a 12-year-old pupil at Abato Nursery and Primary school, located in Mpigi town council.
Police reports indicate that Gracious Bachwa's body, who was a primary five pupil, was found in one of the school structures a few meters from the residence of the school askari.
The body, which had a string around the neck, was tied to a nail in the wall of the building.

Authorities at the school informed the police, who responded by visiting the scene.
Police spent most of the day at the school campus gathering evidence from the scene and getting statements from staff and other school authorities.
Lydia Tumushabe, the Katonga regional police mouthpiece, said the school guards, bursar, and matron have been detained pending investigations.
Tumushabe added that the police is also gathering evidence from the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras which were found on the building where the body was recovered.
The incident happened on Wednesday, June 02, in the morning hours, according to the police report.

Sources at the school said that Bachwa while attending class on the fateful day, asked his teacher for permission to go to the restrooms, a request which was granted.
It is reported that teachers later expressed worry about Bachwa's delayed return, thus forcing the administration to launch a search.
Cissy Namuyomba, the bereaved mother, said her son had earlier reported cases of harassment and intimidation by a member of staff at the school.
By press time, a postmortem report from Mulago City Hospital mortuary had not been released.
Meanwhile, detectives are also investigating a case of assault, where a journalist (Joseph Kinobe, a Bukedde TV journalist) was assaulted by teachers while documenting the police at the school compound.
