“Many of the people with Type 5 diabetes are unaware they have it because they are not overweight. In fact, they are often wasted and thin,” Dr Silver Bahendeka, the lead investigator of the STEPS Survey and senior consultant physician for diabetes and endocrinology at St Francis Hospital Nsambya, said.
