Bilharzia still public health concern for Uganda

Bilharzia or snail fever is a disease caused by a parasitic flatworm called schistosomes.One becomes infected with bilharzia when one gets into direct contact with fresh water harbouring snails that carry the parasitic flatworm.

People in the fishing communities are at high risk of contracting Bilhazia.
