After singer Lyto Boss had his well attended Love Fest concert at Hotel Africana in Kampala on February 14, 2024 (Valentine’s Day), he left Uganda.

He was rumoured to be married to an older white woman in the US.

On Monday, May 27, during a Zoom call for Bukedde TV’s Vibe Mix show, Lyto (Derrick Katongole) clarified that he is not married to the woman and that he often travels for business.

"I know people talk a lot about me and I cannot stop them from talking about me. I am a gifted musician, however, it doesn't stop me from travelling to accomplish my other tasks. My mission in life is to always look for what is next and I do not get stuck on one thing. Whatever people are saying about me being married to the older white woman is a lie. The allegations are not true. Those who know my love life know about my true love. My love life is not a secret. It is known by many. I have a wife and children living in the US. However, I travel to many places such as Germany and Sweden for business. I have been a businessman for over four years. I am a farmer I move in search of market for my agricultural products. That old woman people talk about is a business partner and a sponsor of my music. I am the brand ambassador of her organisation that takes care of the physically handicapped based in the US," he said.

The fans of Lyto in Uganda have reason to smile as he has released two songs.

"My fans in Uganda should not get scared. I am a Ugandan and will remain a Ugandan forever. I release music at  my own space, intending to let my fans real enjoy the songs. I put in a lot of time to do quality work, worthy listening not to, not rushing and doing songs that will last for only one day. I do not do music under pressure. This year, I have managed to release two new projects after six years and they are Bimbula and Lusuku Eden. They are both doing well," Lyto Boss said .
