The highly anticipated film "I Apologise" by Ashiraf Mulima made its debut at the National Theatre on Wednesday, creating a buzz among movie enthusiasts.

Attendees donned a variety of fashion styles, adhering to the official dress code for the red carpet event that commenced at 5:00 PM.

The festivities began with a large turnout of revellers strolling down the red carpet in diverse styles, posing for photos to immortalise their moments. Event organisers then ushered them to cocktail spots, where they were treated to an assortment of beverages.

At 6:00 PM, the audience enjoyed a live music session by the talented singer and guitarist, Edward Kayondo. Despite facing technical difficulties with loose electric cables on his guitar, Kayondo's vocal prowess left the crowd yearning for more.

By 8:00 PM, attendees had entered the auditorium, where they were captivated by an outstanding performance from singer Lyto Boss. He showcased some of his love songs, fulfilling requests from the audience for different song choices.

The movie unfolded after Lyto Boss's performance, exceeding public expectations. Although it started on a subdued note, the plot evolved into an exhilarating narrative, eliciting a range of emotions from the audience, including anger, sadness, and empathy. During the event, Robert Mutumba, representing Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng, expressed delight at how the filmmakers vividly portrayed health issues. He hinted at the minister's promise to provide support to the movie producers in bringing the story to a broader audience.

Frank Kabushenga, CEO of TFK Luminary, the exhibition company behind the movie's showcase, pledged to bring more compelling stories to cinemas nationwide.

Ashiraf Mulima, the movie's producer and director, recounted the challenges faced in bringing the story to life, including the theft of the movie's footage. Despite setbacks, Mulima successfully rallied the cast and crew for a reshoot.

The event concluded on a high note with Sqoop Lamar, whose song "Regina" served as the movie's soundtrack, performing for the audience. Revellers exited the auditorium, engaging in another photo session and networking with filmmakers, artists, and celebrities present at the premiere.

The star-studded event saw prominent figures in the arts and creative sector, including rapper Babaluku, veteran actor Raymond Rushabiro, Mariam Bukenya (Ketra) of the Ebonies, Nisha Kalema, and actress Sally Elizabeth Bwamimpeke, among others.
