Renowned Ugandan filmmaker Samuel Saviour Kizito, known for his work on movies such as "Nkwanzi's Slip," "Kemi," "Ssekukkulu: A Ugandan Christmas" has been selected to head the jury at the Rustenburg Film Festival in South Africa.

The filmmaker shared the news on his social media handles on Saturday, expressing his delight at being chosen for the festival, which is set to take place from September 25 to 29 this year.

"I’ve been honored to serve as the Head Jury for the Rustenburg Film Festival 2024. It’s a pleasure to support the growth of African cinema through this dimension. Looking forward to the festival activities from September 25 to 29 in Rustenburg, South Africa," Kizito wrote on his social media handles.

Speaking to New Vision, the filmmaker said that his selection signifies the growing recognition of Ugandan filmmakers. He expressed confidence in delivering honest and truthful judgments.
