Gospel singer Sam Lucas Lubyogo, popularly known by his stage name Levixone, and celebrated Ugandan artiste Desire Luzinda have officially announced their wedding date—August 15, 2025.

The couple, who have long been rumoured to be in a discreet but deeply rooted relationship, made their first official church announcement on Sunday, July 27, at Phaneroo Ministries International in Kampala.

The congregation erupted in joy as the news was confirmed from the pulpit, turning what began as an ordinary Sunday service into a moment of celebration.

For over five years, whispers of their relationship circulated in entertainment circles and on social media. However, both Levixone and Luzinda chose to keep their love story largely private, away from the glare of the public eye. It wasn’t until Saturday, July 27, that Levixone publicly proposed, sharing a heartfelt video of the special moment on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

“For so many years, I kept this close to my heart. I prayed for purpose, and God gave me the love of my life. He was writing a story I couldn’t see, full of grace, joy, and quiet miracles. My best friend said ‘YES’—my answered prayer, my forever, the Woman of God,” wrote Levixone, alongside a video that captured him going down on one knee in a candle-lit garden surrounded by close friends.

Desire Luzinda, who now identifies more with her Christian name Racheal, has experienced a remarkable transformation in recent years. Once a tabloid favourite known for her bold music and showbiz persona, she took a break from secular music, relocated to the United States, and recommitted her life to Christ.

“There were moments I thought love had passed me by, that heartbreak was my story... but God had a greater plan. He healed my heart, renewed my faith, and rewrote my story. He brought me the right person, at the right time. A man after God's own heart. Can't wait to build a God-driven marriage with the best man of God @levixone Love truly wins when it starts with Him,” Luzinda posted on her Instagram with a video of the proposal.

Her return to Uganda in recent years has been marked by ministry work, gospel music, and the continuation of her foundation, which supports vulnerable teenage girls through education and mentorship.

Levixone, whose music career began in the ghettos of Kosovo, a Kampala suburb, has risen to become one of Uganda’s most influential gospel musicians. Known for hits like Chikibombe, Turn the Replay, and Samanya, he has consistently used his music to inspire hope and faith among the youth.

Beyond music, he is also a humanitarian, running the 92 Hands Foundation, which supports street children and underprivileged communities with education, food, and shelter.

Preparations for the wedding are already underway, and it is expected to be a high-profile yet spiritually grounded ceremony, attracting family, gospel artistes, ministers, and well-wishers from around the world.

For now, Levixone and Desire Luzinda are asking for prayers as they prepare to start their new chapter—not as music icons, but as husband and wife committed to God’s purpose.
