Gospel artiste Juma Mulokole has revealed that part of the proceeds from his Mboneredde (learnt a lesson) concert will go towards equipping vulnerable groups, particularly prostitutes and widows, with skills in baking and tailoring in order for them to earn a living.
He revealed that he has a soft spot for such women after an incident in 2023, where his wife-to-be dumped him for another man.
"I was committed to her and we were organising an introduction ceremony, not knowing she would break my heart. I remember wailing when she left because I loved her so much," Juma recounted.
He made the remarks during a press conference at the Vision Group headquarters in Industrial Area in Kampala on June 12.
Instead of seeking revenge, the singer, real name Juma Zizinga, felt compassion for women. A then heartbroken Juma said he sang Mboneredde to comfort himself.
Juma expressed contentment that Mboneredde heals people that are divorced or have been dumped by their lovers.
After the unfortunate incident, he went on and opened up a foundation in Jinja - Answer Foundation - to nurse the wounds of the heartbroken.
His concert, sponsored by Vision Group, is set for this Saturday, June 15, at House of Rest Fidodido on Kampala Road.
It will feature gospel artistes such as Levixone, Titus Kuteesa, Ken B, Betty Nakibuuka, Betty Muwanguzi and Afande Bukenya.
Juma also has a show slated for June 22 in Jinja.
