On Saturday, June 22, gospel singer Juma Mulokole had a concert dubbed Mboneredde (I have learnt a lesson) at Mayors Gardens named in Jinja.
Jinja-based secular MC Rocky Manoky, who works with a local radio station there, was among the several MCs at the concert.
Around 11:20pm, Rocky stepped on stage to introduce gospel musician Levixone, but he first had an interaction with the revellers, then asked which song he could sing for them.
He suddenly opted for songs which are trending on TikTok, which have been dubbed vulgar.
Levixone and another gospel artiste Eli Bulamu, who has songs such as No Wahala, Believe and his latest Enyonta, which have dominated the gospel fraternity, were back stage at the time Rocky was on stage.
Angered by Rocky's actions, Eli Bulamu wanted to go on stage and grab the microphone from him, but Levixone urged him to calm down.
Levixone then went on stage with the second microphone, forcing Rocky to step back. Levixone proceeded to greet the revellers in the name of Jesus Christ.
"What this brother of ours is doing is not right because we came here as Born-again Christians to worship, praise the Lord and preach the gospel because this is a gospel show," he said.
Turning to Rocky, Levixone told him they had come to preach about Jesus being the way, the truth and the life, and urged him to desist from bringing vulgarity to such a platform.
Levixone said people who preach the gospel go through alot to deliver the good news.
He noted that that Satan is already fighting them and other people are bringing him on stage by singing songs which praise him. At this point, there were voices from the audience demanding that Rocky should leave the stage.
Levixone said because they are Born-again Christians, they have forgiven him as their brother because one of the purposes of the show was to make sure the people of Jinja get to understand Jesus Christ.
While Levixone was talking, Rocky, who was on the stage, kept making a video recording of the gospel singer using his phone.
Levxione was pissed off.
His true colours of Kosovo slum in Kampala, where he grew up, seemed to have wanted to come out.
The show ended when Rocky had not stepped again on the stage.
After the show, Levixone said he had a talk with Rocky and he apologised.
