ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
-First Reading – Exodus 19:2-6a God tells Moses at Sinai: “If you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession… a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”
God chooses us first. Our job is to say “yes” and live differently.
-Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 100:1b-2, 3, 5 R/. We are his people, the sheep of his flock.
Sing joyfully to the Lord. Know that the Lord is God. He made us. His kindness is everlasting, his faithfulness to all generations.
-Second Reading – Romans 5:6-11 “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” We were reconciled to God through His Son’s death. Now we’re saved by His life.
Sacred Heart Friday fits perfectly here — Christ died out of love before we deserved it.
-Gospel Acclamation – Mark 1:15 Alleluia, alleluia. The Kingdom of God is at hand;
repent, and believe in the Gospel.
-Gospel – Matthew 9:36-10:8 Jesus sees the crowds: “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few.”
So He calls the 12 apostles, gives them authority, and sends them: “Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.”
