The Miss Uganda 2024 search has been launched.
Amidst a lavish setting at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel on Thursday, April 18, the organisers unveiled plans for an exciting journey ahead, drawing on the successes of Miss Uganda 2023 at the global stage, where reigning Miss Uganda Hannah Karema emerged as the first runner-up for Miss World Africa and made it to the Top Eight in the Miss World contest.
Fueling this momentum was the resounding success of the Miss Uganda reality TV show 2023, which captivated audiences across the nation.
StarTimes, the digital pay TV platform that aired the reality show from regional searches to the grand finale, reported staggering viewership statistics, ranking it as the second most-viewed show ever on StarTimes, following only the World Cup.
Encouraged by this reception, Startimes has pledged increased support for Miss Uganda 2024.
The Miss Uganda organisers further dazzled attendees with promises of glamour, empowerment, and the celebration of beauty with purpose during the launch.
In her address, Brenda Nanyonjo, the CEO of Miss Uganda, expressed her happiness with the success of Miss Uganda.
She unveiled the roadmap of this year's search, set to kick off on May 10 in West Nile, followed by regional rounds in northern, western, central and eastern Uganda, as well as Kampala.
Nanyonjo said this year, there will be house elimination in the bootcamp and no girl will contest without a passport as during the bootcamp they will be travelling.
In her speech, Karema urged aspiring contestants to seize the opportunity and believe in themselves.
