The journey to crown Miss Uganda 2025/2026 is officially underway, following a vibrant press launch held on Wednesday at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

This year’s pageant promises to be a dazzling celebration of beauty, intelligence, and ambition, as young women from across Uganda compete for the prestigious crown and the opportunity to represent the nation on the global stage.

More than just a beauty contest, Miss Uganda has long served as a platform for empowering women through education, advocacy, and entrepreneurship. For the first time, the entire competition will be televised at every stage, offering audiences a front-row seat to the transformation and talent of each contestant.

In a strategic move to streamline operations and reduce costs, organizers have announced that all contestant activities will be centralized in the central region. Brenda Nanyonjo, CEO of Miss Uganda, explained, “We have been spending too much on regional tours, so this time, contestants will come to Kampala.” She added, “However, we are committed to supporting them with transport and accommodation.”

Eligibility requirements

To qualify, contestants must be Ugandan citizens aged between 18 and 25, born and raised in the region they wish to represent. All personal details will be thoroughly verified by the Miss Uganda team to ensure authenticity.

Applicants must be unmarried, not engaged, and not pregnant, with no criminal record. In addition to being in good health, contestants should possess strong communication skills and demonstrate integrity, poise, and a genuine passion for representing Uganda and its values.

A reigning Queen’s triumph

At the launch event, reigning Miss Uganda Natasha Nyonyozi proudly showcased her recent achievement—the Beauty with a Purpose Africa Award, which she earned at the 2025 Miss World competition held in India.
