Kenneth Mugabi makes a mark at his show

The Afro-Soul recording artiste known for his ambient story-telling songs, guitar playing and tube-fiddle skills, ensured to keep his fans, who came in good numbers, hooked from the time he took to stage at about 9:00pm.

Kenneth Mugabi was in his usual element on a chilly Friday evening, November 24, during the People of the Land concert that was held at the Kampala Serena Hotel when he bellowed his popular fan-favourite tracks such as Naki, Kibunomu, Nambi and Neyanziza

The Afro-Soul recording artiste known for his ambient story-telling songs, guitar playing and tube-fiddle skills, ensured to keep his fans, who came in good numbers, hooked from the time he took to stage at about 9:00pm. 

Not the type that is a great and energetic stage performer that he was to dance and do so many things on stage, he relies mostly on his strong vocals to bellow out his soulful smooth pieces to captivate his fans, as witnessed on Friday.

His fans did not disappoint in cheering him and rent the Serena air with deafening screams from the start of the show to the end. 

Amid his performances, Mugabi was joined by artistes such as young ballet dancers from a dance studio in Kampala, saxophonist Happy Kyazze, guitarist Myko Ouma, Janzi player James Ssewakiryanga aka Ssewa Ssewa, vocalist Naava Grey, hip hop artiste Xenson, a host of upcoming underground rappers and poets who made the evening vibrant and lively until its end at about midnight. 

It was a good evening of Afro-soul music that was opened with the national anthem, Busoga and Buganda anthem.
