Jayden Burial: Full Programme Released Ahead of Thursday Funeral

The final journey for Ugandan TikTok creator Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has been set, with the social media star due to be laid to rest this Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Kayanja died on September 15 in India, where he had travelled for a bone marrow transplant after his health deteriorated following years of battling sickle cell disease.

His death came after his condition reportedly worsened following the transplant. His health battle had been publicly documented after he appealed for financial assistance to help meet the cost of his treatment.

Reports indicated that Jayden was also struggling with a hospital bill reportedly running into millions of shillings before his death. Well-wishers later rallied to clear the outstanding medical expenses and facilitate the repatriation of his body to Uganda.

The burial programme begins Tuesday, September 22, with a vigil at St Kizito Catholic Church, Namungoona. On Wednesday, September 23, mourners will gather at the same church for a requiem Mass at 10:00am, followed by another vigil at Sala Village in Wakiso District

Jayden’s health battle was linked to sickle cell disease, which later reportedly developed into aplastic anaemia, a condition that affects the body’s ability to produce enough blood cells.

In July, he underwent a bone marrow transplant in India and was reportedly recovering before his condition relapsed and deteriorated.

His death has since sparked an outpouring of grief among fans, fellow content creators and well-wishers, many of whom followed his public health battle and fundraising journey.

Jayden will be laid to rest on Thursday, September 24, bringing to an end a difficult final chapter in the life of a young creator who had built a following through his TikTok content.
