Popular TikTok star Jayden dies after battle with sickle cell disease

Popular TikTok personality Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has died after a long and painful battle with complications related to sickle cell disease.

News of his death was announced on Tuesday morning by fellow TikToker Sheilah Price before close friends and associates confirmed the heartbreaking news.

Jayden, 24, had been battling severe health complications caused by sickle cell disease, prompting fellow content creators, friends and well-wishers to rally behind him in a fundraising campaign to help meet the cost of his treatment.

In July, Jayden travelled to India for treatment and was reported to have successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant. At the time, there was renewed hope that the procedure would give him a new lease on life. But the recovery did not go as hoped.

In recent weeks, reports emerged that Jayden’s condition had deteriorated and that he had been readmitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Fortis Hospital in India, where he had undergone the transplant.

Entertainment journalist Isaac Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, had earlier shared updates about Jayden’s worsening condition, revealing that he had suffered a relapse and was receiving intensive medical care.

Despite the treatment and the desperate efforts by his family, friends and supporters to save his life, Jayden has now passed away.

His death has left his family, fellow content creators and thousands of fans mourning a young entertainer whose battle with illness had touched many lives.
