Singer Irene Ntale has candidly shared her recent health journey, revealing that she underwent surgery to remove multiple uterine fibroids.
The revelation came after Ntale responded to a social media post by an influencer who was discussing her own experience with fibroids, a condition that affects millions of women worldwide.
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths made of muscle and fibrous tissue that develop in or around the uterus and can cause symptoms such as heavy bleeding, pelvic pain and fertility complications.
Ntale disclosed that she underwent an open abdominal myomectomy in June, a procedure performed through a vertical incision to remove the fibroids while preserving the uterus. She revealed that doctors successfully removed 30 fibroids during the operation.
Providing an update on her recovery, the "Sembera" singer said the surgery was carried out in Uganda and that she is steadily regaining her strength and has gradually resumed work.
"4 weeks 4 days post-op! 30 removed! Vertical incision! Healing very well. The first week was hell! The gas pains after surgery! But after that everything starts to slowly feel normal again. Did my surgery in Uganda," Ntale shared.
The singer's health update comes just weeks after she spoke openly about her desire to start a family. Speaking on TikTok, Ntale admitted that fans have been putting her under pressure to have children, often pointing to fellow female musicians such as Vinka, Sheebah, Cindy and Carol Kasita, who have all embraced motherhood while continuing with their music careers.
"You have always been talking about babies. It is now time that I also thought about having a baby. I am planning to get pregnant on a serious note," she said.
Ntale got engaged to businessman Vincent Kalibbala in 2024 before the couple exchanged vows in October 2025. As she continues her recovery, fans have flooded social media with messages of support, wishing her good health and success in the next chapter of her life.
