Baby Gloria has confirmed that she has quit Kampala Crème TV reality show.
The show, which premiered in January, featured TV personalities Etania, Zahara Toto, Mami Deb and Gloria.
In a Snapshat post on February 6, Gloria, real name Gloria Mulungi Ssenyonjo, had stated that "the show is fake and scripted, that's it." The post went to reveal how she was coached to cry in one of the opening episodes, even though the audience was meant to believe that she was crying from beneath her soul. She eventually deleted the post that day.
In a statement released on her official social media platforms on February 9, Gloria unveiled a behind-the-scenes narrative of power struggles and toxicity within the production.
Initially thrilled by the prospect of joining the show, Baby Gloria said her excitement turned into disappointment and ultimately led to her resignation.
Baby Gloria revealed that she and her team entered the project with enthusiasm and dedication, fuelled by the desire to fulfill their fans' wishes and venture into the realm of reality TV. However, their journey took an unexpected turn as they encountered power dynamics, conflicts, and a toxic work environment. The once vibrant atmosphere turned sour, tarnishing relationships and causing mental health trauma.
Baby Gloria spoke of the painful yet necessary decision to resign, highlighting the importance of preserving dignity and professionalism. She acknowledged the opportunity to bring joy and entertainment to viewers while emphasising the authenticity of her contributions to the show.
According to her, the departure from Kampala Crème serves as a cautionary tale about the challenges of reality TV production, shedding light on issues such as bullying, disrespect, and favouritism. Baby Gloria encouraged young girls to stand tall, assert themselves, and never compromise their worth for anyone.
Despite the hardships faced, Baby Gloria expressed gratitude to the entities involved in the project and extended blessings to all involved.
