Martha Ahumuza Murari died in March, bringing the Mezo Noir hangout to the limelight. Ruparelia, on May 3, died in a car crash near the Busabala flyover with his high-speed Nissan GTR, losing control, crashing and catching fire; he died instantly, while Cedric Babu Ndilima's death on May 31 at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, followed a battle with advanced heart failure.
