Veteran Ugandan playwright and actor Alex Mukulu was laid to rest on Thursday (August 20) at Kijabijo, Gayaza in Wakiso district.
In a poignant final tribute to the theatre legend, Mukulu’s 10-string guitar was played for one last time before his burial—a fitting farewell for an artist whose life was deeply intertwined with music, theatre and storytelling.
The guitar accompanied him to his final resting place, turning what could have been an ordinary burial ritual into a symbolic final curtain call.
For a man who spent decades entertaining, challenging and inspiring audiences, the message was unmistakable: the music may have stopped, but Mukulu’s story will continue to play.
