Stanbic exchanged a turnover worth sh141.5m, accounting for 42.51% of the weekly turnover. MTN moved sh105.4m, dfcu Limited dealt sh62.5m, while Umeme, Bank of Baroda (BOBU), Airtel Uganda, and Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) exchanged sh12.6m, sh7.1m, sh3.6m, and sh1,352 respectively.

Total equities turnover at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) dropped to sh332m from sh8.5b recorded last week, representing a 96.1% decline.

The week’s trading session more turnover was recorded on the Stanbic and MTN counters according to a market report from Crested Capital.

Stanbic exchanged a turnover worth sh141.5m, accounting for 42.51% of the weekly turnover. MTN moved sh105.4m, dfcu Limited dealt sh62.5m, while Umeme, Bank of Baroda (BOBU), Airtel Uganda, and Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) exchanged sh12.6m, sh7.1m, sh3.6m, and sh1,352 respectively.

On price movements, only three counters had price changes from last Friday’s close. Stanbic was the only gainer, adding 2.31% to close at sh33.25. MTN fell 0.38% to sh170, BOBU dropped 6.25% to sh15.00, while other counters remained constant with dfcu at sh225.00, Umeme at sh400.00, Airtel Uganda at sh85.00, and UCL at sh13.00.

On the cross-listings, KCB Group led the gainers, advancing by 23.22%. Equity Group Holdings rose 12.64%, East African Breweries Limited gained 7.42%, Nation Media Group was up 4.35%, Centum Investments appreciated 3.08%, while Jubilee Holdings Limited was the only loser, dropping 3.96%.

The USE All Share Index (ALSI) gained 5.70% to close at its 7-month high of 1,016.18 while the C11 – Crested’s local companies’ index edged up 0.08% to close at 96.05 index points.
