The Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) recorded a turnover of sh165.81m during the shortened trading week down from sh2.6b the previous week ahead of the Easter break.
About 4.7 million shares were traded across six counters compared with 19.18 million shares the week prior according to data from Crested Capital.
Bank of Baroda (BOBU) led market activity exchanging shares worth sh108.4m in trades from 4.36 million shares. MTN Uganda followed with sh41.5m from 0.18 million shares.
Airtel moved sh6.8m from 73,575 shares and dfcu Limited traded sh6.2m from 25,000 shares. Stanbic Holdings saw sh2.8m worth in trades from 60,024 shares, while NIC Holdings (NIC) traded just sh7,000 from 1,400 shares.
On share price movements, two stocks registered price gains with dfcu rising 3.77% to close at sh248 per share while BOBU climbed 1.92% to sh25. Airtel was the sole decliner, shedding 3.00% to end at sh92.15.
Other active counters remained unchanged: MTNU closed at sh272.00 per share. NIC at sh5 and Stanbic at sh47.
Cross-listed counters, Kenya Airways dropped the most, falling 11.30% to sh130.80, followed by Centum Investments, which lost 5.72% to sh350.30. East African Breweries declined 4.62% to sh5,056.75.
Jubilee Holdings and KCB Group both fell 1.15% to sh5,932.50 and sh1,073.50, respectively. Equity Group slipped 0.37% to sh1,258.54.
The USE All Share Index (ASLI) edged down 0.09% to 1,273.47, while the local company Index fell 0.40% to 127.58.
