Stock dropped sharply at the Uganda Securities Exchange last week, according to market data from Crested Capital.
Total turnover fell to sh581m from last week’s sh8.04b. MTN Uganda traded shares worth sh426.74m. Stanbic Holdings followed with sh69.05m in turnover, while Airtel Uganda posted sh33.77m.
Quality Chemicals Limited exchanged sh21.23m, and Umeme traded sh11.26m. Uganda Clays and dfcu together barely crossed Sh1.45 m.
On share price movements, Stanbic ticked up by just 0.02% to sh60.02. Airtel Uganda slipped 1.16% to sh85, dfcu edged down 0.33% to sh301, and MTN Uganda eased 0.32% to sh312. Quality Chemicals and Umeme also weakened, down 0.01% and 0.70% respectively, closing at sh115 and sh142.
Bank of Baroda stayed at sh47, British American Tobacco Uganda at sh13,500, Uganda Clays at sh6, New Vision at sh150, and NIC at sh5.20.
On cross-listed stocks, Centum plunged 14.28% to sh359.20, KCB fell 7.14% to sh1,562.94, and Kenya Airways was down 5.72% to sh93.5.
East African Breweries dropped 4.23% to sh6,039.26, and Nation Media Group shed 4.49% to sh346.86. The only bright spot among the group was Jubilee Holdings, which climbed 3.72% to sh8,952.63.
