Uganda Clays Limited has appointed Jones Muhumuza as its substantive managing director, effective September 1, 2026.
Muhumuza replaces Reuben Tumwebaze, whose contract expired and was not renewed by the board.
The company announced the appointment in a notice to shareholders and the general public, saying Muhumuza is the right person to lead the team in executing its business strategy.
Muhumuza joined Uganda Clays in 2021 as head of finance and has served as acting managing director since February 2026.

According to the board, he brings extensive management experience to the position.
“The Board is confident that Mr Muhumuza is the right person to lead the team that is charged with successfully executing the Company’s business strategy,” the notice said.
His appointment comes as Uganda Clays seeks to advance its business strategy under substantive leadership.
