KAMPALA - Stanbic Uganda Holdings’ share price gained 5.36% at the Uganda Securities Exchange on August 10, closing the session at a record sh90 from an opening price of sh85.42.
Buyers of the stock snapped 264,500 shares at the closing price, according to market data from Crested Capital.
The data also shows that demand outstripped what sellers were offering, with bids for 71,800 shares sitting at sh85 against a much larger offer of 242,300 shares at sh90.
Stanbic has been one of the best performing stocks on the USE this year, having started 2026 trading in the low sh60s before climbing steadily through the first half of the year into the sh80s.
Monday’s jump to sh90 pushes the counter further into new territory, lifting its market capitalisation to sh4.6 trillion.
Other counter performance
During the trading session, Airtel Uganda slipped 0.16% to close at sh169, with 8,719 shares changing hands. MTN Uganda held steady at sh435, though it dominated volumes with 5,007,178 shares traded.
The rest of the counters, Bank of Baroda (BOBU), Dfcu, National Insurance Corporation (NIC), New Vision Printing and Publishing Company (NVL), Quality Chemical Industries (QCIL), Uganda Clays (UCL) and Umeme, recorded no deals, closing unchanged from their opening prices.
British American Tobacco (BATU) also saw no trades, though it drew an offer of 1,000 shares at sh11,500 according to Crested Capital data.
