Shilling gains slightly during the trading week

On Friday, the local currency traded relatively stable, supported by subdued demand and supply.

The Ugandan shilling appreciated slightly against the US dollar, closing the week at 3,660/3,670, a 0.02% gain from 3,661/3,671 in the previous week.

KAMPALA - The Ugandan shilling appreciated slightly against the US dollar, closing the week at 3,660/3,670, a 0.02% gain from 3,661/3,671 in the previous week.

On Friday, the local currency traded relatively stable, supported by subdued demand and supply.

The shilling fluctuated within a narrow range of 3,660-3,670 during the day’s session.

Money markets remained liquid Absa data shows with overnight funds averaging 10.53% and one-week funds at 11.00%. The Bank of Uganda did not conduct any open market operations.
