Offer quality products even on social media, UCU Vice Chancellor

The vice chancellor of Uganda Christian University in Mukono, Professor Aaron Mushengyezi has urged online businesses to always offer quality products even on social media.

"It is not a good idea to present any product on the WhatsApp platform and expect your audience to like it. The product should be of quality and proven. Otherwise, your target audience will not take you seriously," said Mushengyezi.

In casual conversation, Andrew Nahabwe, technical director at the Center for Occupational Safety and Health (U) Ltd., advises people to avoid posting unverified information on social media.

“If you know that the person posts fake news or information, you will not trust them,” Nahabwe states. “If someone posts something of value, they will pay attention to it,” Nahabwe says what you post will determine how people view you.

Due to the great desire to reach many people, some people might simply send emails to random contacts. These are likely the people they have not established contact with. However, Harriet Dinkins, a tuber, a gospel artist, and a cosmetologist warn against that.

“If you are sharing something, make sure that you know each other,” she says. “Not everyone is interested in your services or products.”

Besides that, Dinkins warns that a person should be aware of haters. She says that not everyone you know is your friend. So, you should be cautious of the people you send to and make sure that they do care about you.

“They are people who do not wish us well,” she says. “Others will just abuse you or comment badly about your product.”

Even when you receive an insulting or abusive response from the viewer, you should not react.

When you become vindictive, Dinkins reveals you might end up losing your goal of marketing your services. Therefore, it is always good to be polite and keep your cool no matter the comment.
