Ethiopia to build US $660m pipeline to Djibouti with Dangote
The pipeline will connect Damerjog in Djibouti to Dewele in Ethiopia, transporting refined petroleum products, according to Ethiopian state media Fana.

ADDIS ABABA - Ethiopia and Djibouti will build a $660 million petroleum pipeline and storage facilities in a joint venture with the Dangote Group, Ethiopian Investment Holdings announced on Thursday.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed attended a ground-breaking ceremony alongside Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh and Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man, in Djibouti.
The pipeline will connect Damerjog in Djibouti to Dewele in Ethiopia, transporting refined petroleum products, according to Ethiopian state media Fana.
"This landmark infrastructure will reduce logistics costs and delays, strengthen energy security, and enhance the efficiency and resilience of the Ethiopia–Djibouti corridor," Abiy posted on X.
It comes as Dangote prepares to break ground on a new 700,000-barrel-per-day oil refinery in Lamu, Kenya next week.
Dangote is also building a $4 billion fertiliser plant in Gode, Ethiopia.
