dfcu Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Uganda’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with financing, asset acquisition and risk-management solutions to help businesses expand and create jobs.

The bank highlighted this commitment during a Kyusa Level SME Customer Dine-Out at its Namanve Branch, which brought together business owners from Namanve and Mukono to discuss challenges and opportunities for enterprise growth.

Speaking at the event on Friday, Simon Peter Kiwanuka, dfcu Bank’s Chief Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Control Officer, said engaging customers directly enables the bank to understand their ambitions and develop solutions suited to their business needs.

“Businesses across Namanve and Mukono are driving economic activity, creating jobs and investing in the future. Through engagements like this, we gain a better understanding of the realities they face and how we can support their ambitions with solutions that are relevant to their stage of growth,” Kiwanuka said.

The engagement was organised under the bank’s Kyusa Level campaign, an initiative aimed at helping SMEs identify and pursue their next stage of growth.

Kiwanuka noted that business growth takes different forms, including expanding operations, improving efficiency, investing in productive assets and accessing new markets.

However, enterprises continue to face challenges such as rising operating costs, working-capital constraints and the need to invest in expansion while maintaining daily operations.

William Kayongo, dfcu Bank’s Head of Enterprise Banking, outlined financing solutions designed to support SMEs’ day-to-day operations, expansion plans and long-term growth objectives.

He also highlighted the bank’s support for savings and credit cooperative organisations (SACCOs) and investment clubs through solutions that help groups manage savings and explore financing opportunities.

The discussions further covered vehicle and asset financing, with Double Q Company, dfcu’s vehicle and asset finance partner, showcasing commercial vehicles and heavy equipment to businesses seeking to strengthen their operations.
