For our organisation, which focuses on entrepreneurial education, school-based enterprises, youth employability and practical skills development, the budget offers both encouragement and reasons for caution.

My key take away is that government has finally placed jobs, enterprise development and wealth creation at the centre of economic policy. The minister repeatedly said that economic growth will be judged by its ability to create jobs and raise incomes, especially for young people. This aligns closely with what we are doing. Programmes, such as the Youth Livelihood Programme, Youth Venture Capital Fund, UDB financing, PDM and Emyooga provide pathways for young entrepreneurs who need capital after acquiring business skills.
