Baroda shares climb 1.34% in Tuesday’s session

Baroda, DFCU Group, National Insurance Corporation (NIC), New Vision Printing and Publishing Company (NVL) and Umeme recorded no deals during the session, with prices unchanged.

KAMPALA - The Bank of Baroda counter at the bourse recorded its share price rising to sh66 per share from an opening of sh65.13, a gain of 1.34%.

According to the daily market report from Crested Capital, the counter was also among the most active on the bourse, with 20,833 shares changing hands at sh66 each, translating into a turnover of sh1.3m.

Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) share price increased by 8.45% to close at sh7.70 from an opening of sh7.10. The counter traded 1,000 shares, generating a turnover of sh7,700.

Airtel Uganda also firmed up, gaining 0.89% to close at sh176 from an opening of sh174.44 per share. The telecom counter recorded a turnover of sh1.76m from 10,000 shares traded at sh176.

On the losing side, Quality Chemical Industries Limited (QCIL) shed sh0.77 to close at sh160, a drop of 0.48%.

The counter traded 4,000 shares worth sh640,000.

MTN Uganda closed nearly flat, at sh435, with a modest 860 shares changing hands for a turnover of sh374,100.

Stanbic Holdings exchanged 58,500 shares at sh101 each, worth sh5.9m, though the price held steady at sh101 with no change recorded.
