What began as a simple mother-daughter day out at the Bride & Groom Expo ended in double celebrations for Rovinsa Namakula and her mother, Alice Nabisenke.
Namakula, who attended the opening day of the expo at the UMA Multipurpose Hall in Lugogo with her mother, said the visit was inspired by their shared love of weddings.
“My mother is a big fan of weddings, and I have always loved expos,” she said. “I bought two raffle tickets just for fun. I gave one to my mother and kept one for myself. By the end of the night, we had both won.”

Namakula walked away with a Queen Ma Selfcare hamper containing perfumes, bath essentials, a toiletry bag and other beauty products. Her mother, however, scooped the night’s biggest prize - a two-night honeymoon stay at Silver Springs Hotel Kampala, complete with a gift hamper.
A delighted Nabisenke said she is looking forward to enjoying the getaway with her husband, John Kawalaya. The raffle draws also rewarded several other lucky visitors. Innocent Marvin Ngobi won a Queen Ma Selfcare hamper, while Silvia Karuhanga received a Daanya Skincare hamper.
The Nitin Bhangwani family won customised bottles of Bella Wine, Mary Nakyingi took home a bridal spa experience from Nkwanzi, while Akampa George and his fiancée, Maria Arinaitwe, won a two-night honeymoon getaway to Igongo Cultural Centre and Country Hotel.
The prize giveaways added an extra touch of excitement to the Bride & Groom Expo, rewarding visitors who came to explore wedding ideas with memorable surprises.
Held under the theme,
