Ugandans are generally drawn to entertainment or any fun event, much like a bee is drawn to flowers. On the social calendar, the Bride and Groom Expo is the flower that has blossomed over the last 17 years, drawing visitors to UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo.
Slated for the 26th to 28th of June, and at only sh10,000, UMA’s gates will open to visitors, who are ready to shop for weddings, anniversaries and a lot more.
Falling under the theme, “I do: A journey of Love, Home and Family”, the expo will have everything to do with weddings (gowns, suits, wedding cake, jewellery, décor and bridal cars…) and other sectors. This is because, although the wedding is important, there is life before and after that ceremony.
To emphasise the diversity of the theme, during a stakeholders’ meeting with exhibitors this Wednesday, CEO Don Wanyama said, “This has led us to broaden our approach to focus not just on the wedding day, but on life beyond the wedding: including building homes, financial planning, starting families, and so much more. This shift allows us to create a more holistic platform that delivers greater value to both exhibitors and attendees.”
There will be different experts speaking at the expo on relationships (especially marriage), how to build a business, how to become a homeowner, insurance and finance.
It is these insights that make the expo a must-attend event. If you have lingering questions in your mind are afraid to ask, come to the expo, where you can write your questions on a piece of paper that will be passed on to the experts to explain. So, you can come with all your bedroom questions and be assured that senga and kojja at the expo will blow your mind with information and solutions to any problems you harbour.
Entertainment is also synonymous with the expo. Vision Group has organised an exciting entertainment package that includes a band and music artistes, who will rouse the crowd off their feet in song and dance.
Surely, whatever it is that you are looking for to thrill you, away from life’s daily hustle, the expo is the place to be. Oh, and there will be drinks and good food too, served by reputable caterers.
