Rodgers Kisitu's eyes light up when he talks about the Bride and Groom Expo – the platform that gave his business, Bloven Deco and Cake, its big break. “It has been a game-changer for us,” he says with a wide smile.
The year was 2010, and his business, Bloven Deco and Cake, was just getting started.
“We were looking for exposure,” he says. “Social media wasn’t that big then. The expo was the one place we could go and be sure we would meet the right market, couples preparing for their weddings.”

Bloven was among the first vendors to exhibit at the expo. Kisitu calls them “pioneers”. Starting small, they took a chance on a new platform, and it is paying off.
“Most of my clients have come from there. We have built our brand through the expo.”
Over the years, Bloven’s presence at the Bride & Groom Expo has grown. Kisitu says they have built a reputation that continues to draw new clients long after the biggest bridal show is over.
“We have several certificates from past expos. People trust us now because they have seen us at the expo year after year,” he says.
Since 2010, Bloven has never missed any of the expos. “We owe a big part of our growth to the Bride & Groom platform. And we’re not going anywhere. We’ll keep showing up,” Kisitu adds.
The reach of the Bride & Groom Expo keeps growing, and so does its influence. With every edition, Bloven sees more people walking through its door, not just to browse but to book.
He also had a word of appreciation for the organisers. “I commend Vision Group for keeping this platform alive. It has helped connect wedding vendors, like us, to real clients who are ready to buy. And for couples, it’s a one-stop place to find everything they need for their big day, all at a good price.”
What to expect this year
Bloven has plans to wow the crowd once again. “We’ll be unveiling new cake designs this year,” Kisitu says. “One of them is a unique cake that comes down from the ceiling to the ground. We’re also showcasing wafer paper cakes and offering cake tastings.”
With a smile, he says. “We want to help people make their dream wedding cake a reality.”
