There is something magical about weddings. From elegant bridal gowns and stylish décor to joyful celebrations with family and friends, every wedding marks the beginning of a new chapter.

That celebration begins today as the 17th Bride & Groom Expo opens at the UMA Multipurpose Hall, Lugogo, running until June 28. Organised by Vision Group, this year’s expo goes beyond wedding planning to focus on what comes after the big day.

Held under the theme, Beyond I Do: A Journey of Love, Home and Family,” the expo brings together hundreds of trusted service providers, offering couples a one-stop destination for everything they need to plan both their wedding and their future together.

According to Jacqueline Taweeka Kabanda, Vision Group's Events Sales and Business Development Manager, the expo has been designed to help couples explore, compare and choose services that suit their style and budget.

Visitors can browse a wide range of bridal gowns, bespoke suits, jewellery, décor, photography, cakes, catering services, honeymoon packages and beauty products, all under one roof.

This year's edition also places greater emphasis on life after the wedding. Couples will find practical advice on financial planning, home ownership, health and family life, making the expo more than just a wedding exhibition. “We are creating a space where couples can prepare not only for their wedding day but also for building a successful life together,” says Taweeka.

The event features expert talks and panel discussions on topics including affordable housing, marriage, family planning and financial management. Property developers, financial institutions and health professionals will share practical advice to help couples make informed decisions as they begin married life.

Among the highlights is a panel discussion on affordable housing featuring Fakhruddin Properties, housing investment clubs and incremental housing. Visitors can also attend talks on designing a successful marriage, modern relationships, IVF and surrogacy, managing finances, and navigating the realities of married life.

The Uganda AIDS Commission will host a session on managing HIV in marriage, including the use of PrEP for discordant couples. Beyond learning, visitors can enjoy exciting entertainment from comedy duo Madrat and Chiko, singer Cindy Sanyu and a live band led by Mesach Semakula.

There are also attractive prizes to be won, including designer bridal gowns from City Bridals, bespoke suits from The Looks Bespoke, Bella Wine hampers, spa and nail treatments from Nkwanzi Cultural Couture, and a luxurious two-night stay at Sheraton Kampala Hotel, complete with dinner and professional photography. In another highlight, the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) will conduct a civil marriage for one lucky couple during the opening day of the expo.

The 17th Bride & Groom Expo is sponsored by Bella Wine, Pepsi and The Looks Bespoke in partnership with CHINT Oppein Home Uganda, Roke Telecom, Sheraton Kampala Hotel and NIRA.

Entry is UGX 10,000 per person. Whether you are planning your wedding or preparing for life beyond ‘I do’, this year’s expo promises inspiration, expert advice and exclusive deals all under one roof.
