Rising star Yami J is making waves in the music industry with his unique style and captivating lyrics. Hailing from Kampala, Uganda, the versatile artist is quickly gaining recognition for his talent and passion.

Known for his infectious smile and positive attitude, Yami J grew up in a musically inclined environment. He attended primary school with a strong focus on music, it was only natural for him to develop a deep love for the art form.

"Well, it has been an amazing tough journey with a lot of adventure and experience. I have been working hard day and night to reach some point in my career. With a lot of challenges as an independent artist, sometimes you feel you wanna give up but again, that’s not the solution," Yami J said in an an interview.

"I am happy that my music is appreciated and received by listeners in places such as South America, Europe, the USA, Australia, and Africa too where I come from. I believe better days are coming, and I will still be proud to represent and promote African tourism, and culture and love to bring all cultures together through my music."

Yami J’s creative process is fluid and spontaneous, with inspiration striking at unexpected moments. Whether it’s a melody that pops into his head while driving or a sudden burst of creativity, he embraces his creative nature and lets it guide his music-making process.

When asked about collaborations, Yami J  says he has been blessed to do international collaborations with top producers such as Jacana Sounds of Australia, King Toppa from Germany, Uffie Ice in Sweden, Killa Shay of Nigeria, South Side Corporation, Colombia, and many more. 

In terms of upcoming shows, Yami J is constantly on the move, with performances lined up later this year in Melbourne, Sydney and in Queensland with 420 Sound Australia.

"I have done musical tours in Sweden, Denmark, Germany. I have performed at Froken Vadal in Stockholm, Sweden and at the AfroJamz Festival in Germany. I have alot of shows coming later this year in Australia and across the world," he said.
