SOROTI - Community Integrated Development Initiative (CIDI) has launched a tree planting campaign in schools across Soroti City to promote environmental conservation.
At least 100 trees were planted at Fr. Hilders Primary School and Soroti Demonstration Primary School, with an additional 50 planted at the Soroti Museum.
Samuel Musisi, the manager of CIDI Soroti, says the initiative aims to help schools preserve the environment.
Ann Grace Akiteng, the program coordinator of Creative Initiative for enterprise development, noted that tree planting encourages learners to embrace environmental protection.
At Soroti Demonstration Primary School, Emmanuel Etieku said learners have each been assigned trees to nurture.
Meanwhile, Michael Obuya, the city education officer, emphasised the need to beautify school environment protection initiatives.
