In a culinary showdown at Salama Springs in Bugolobi, Kampala, the fifth edition of the Singleton Meets at Chef Versus event unfolded with excitement.

Renowned master chefs Hannat and Angelo went head-to-head, showcasing their culinary expertise in a high-stakes battle that left attendees spellbound on Saturday, April 21.

Angelo clinched victory with an exceptional menu, amassing an impressive 148 points, outshining Hannat, whose offerings garnered 71 points. Guests were mesmerised by Angelo's tantalising creations, such as shrimp & avocado pesto, Tuscan chicken , and a luscious opera tart for dessert.

Angelo expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, attributing his success to teamwork and meticulous preparations.

Beyond the culinary clash, guests had Singleton whisky flawlessly complementing each dish. The immersive experience of pairing whisky with gourmet delicacies garnered unanimous approval, underscoring the seamless synergy between fine dining and whisky.

Christine Kyokunda, brand manager Scotch and Reserve, underscored the event's significance in acquainting guests with the world of whisky, emphasising the pivotal role of exceptional food alongside an equally exceptional companion.

Attendees engaged in candid discussions, offering honest critiques and praises for the chefs' ingenuity and skill, fostering an atmosphere of appreciation and dialogue.

Guests were serenaded by the soulful melodies of BlackRoots Academy of Soul and DJ Anselm, infusing the evening with an enchanting musical ambiance that elevated the culinary experience.

 

The festivities continued at the after-party with BlackRoots Unlimited ensuring the night remained vibrant with music and revelry until the early hours.

The fusion of gourmet cuisine, premium whisky, soulful music, and camaraderie crafted an unforgettable evening at Salama Springs, celebrating the art of gastronomy and the joy of shared experiences.
