King Saha starts drive to buy Sheikh Burhaan Kiti vehicle

“I was so amazed while on TikTok when I found a clip of a certain pastor saying, 'it's time you fundraise for me a new car. I am tired of the old car.' There and then, I thought that we, Muslims, had been challenged in faith," King Saha said.

Singer King Saha has started a campaign to buy Islamic preacher Sheikh Burhaan Muhsin Kiti a vehicle.

While speaking during an interview on Bukedde TV’s Vibe Mix show on Friday, May 17, 2024, Saha, real name Mansour Ssemanda, a Muslim, said Kiti has postively impacted on the lives of  youth regardless of religion through his preachings on relationships, including marriage.

On a personal note, the Mulirwana singer said Kiti counselled him when he was down.

He said he discovered that the preacher is a poor man without even a bicycle, thus starting the fundraising drive. The development followed a drive Saha saw on social media, where congregants were collecting money to buy a prominent pastor, Samuel Kakande, a monster ride.

“I was so amazed while on TikTok when I found a clip of a certain pastor saying, 'it's time you fundraise for me a new car. I am tired of the old car.' There and then, I thought that we, Muslims, had been challenged in faith. The Born-again Christians have strong faith while giving to their church leaders. I decided that we should also buy for Sheikh Burhaan a car, which will be his first," Saha revealed.

He disclosed that he had contributed sh10m towards buying Kiti's car.

"I appreciate all the Christians who have already contributed, and I will be happy when he (Kiti) welcomes and appreciates my gift because my intention is to thank him for the good work done. I want Sheikh Burhaan Muhsin Kiti to move to many places around Uganda and reach people in diffirent corners who cannot access social media, but need his words of wisdom," Saha said.

When we reached out to Kiti, he acknowledged Saha as his 'personal friend'.

"He has ever taken me to his ancestral home in Kyotera, where we spent a night talking about a variety of issues in the industry. At times, I visit him at his home in Nakawuka and we talk as brothers. In all we have been talking about and planning, we have never talked about a car or anything of the sort. After I watched the video which he made and posted on his socials, he later called me and we talked about it.  I could not stop him from achieving his dream. I think his idea is not bad. It would be bad if at all we were begging. It's Saha himself and all Ugandans who are interested in helping. I am not expecting much. If the car comes, I will think it was meant to be mine and if it does not, I will also know that it was not meant to be mine. God who created me is the owner of everything in the world and He will give me whatever I deserve in the right time," Kiti said.

On the issue of Saha allegedly using drugs, he said "“Everyone has his/her weakness, even Saha has his weaknesses, using toxic drinks is his biggest weakness, but his heart is pure."

"We have to help him so that he can change. In order to help him, I started by bringing him closer and made him my friend. King Saha is a disciplined boy, more disciplined than other Muslim artistes in Uganda. He has never called me by my name. He always call me dad. It is a very big thing for someone to come out and thank you publicly. Many people often face challenges in the area of thanksgiving," Kiti noted.
